Emergency Dentistry in San Diego
At Peak Dental, our goal is to develop long-term relationships with our patients. We want you to know that we’re here for you, supporting you in any way needed to ensure your best possible oral health.
Nearly everyone will experience some type of dental emergency in their lifetime. The emergency may be as simple as a crown that falls out just as you are heading out to a big event. Or it may be as serious as intense pain in a tooth to the point where you cannot tolerate another moment of discomfort.
We know how overwhelming some of these situations are, but we want you to know that help is always available, whatever your emergency may be. We always allow time in our schedule for our emergency patients, so please call us as soon as possible. We will make arrangements to see you as quickly as possible, usually the same day.
Handling Dental Emergencies
Severe Pain
Severe pain is always an indication that something is wrong with a tooth. If you are experiencing severe pain that can’t be relieved with over-the-counter remedies, please call us right away. It may be a sign of a root canal infection or something more serious.
Tooth Knocked Out
A knocked-out tooth requires immediate attention. Call us right away, and we will give you instructions for keeping the tooth safe until we see you. In many cases, we can preserve the tooth if we act quickly.
Loose Crown
If your dental crown is loose or has fallen out, we may be able to cement it back in place. Handle it carefully, keep it in a safe place, and call our office. Please do not try to cement the crown back in yourself as this may ruin any chance we have of saving the restoration.
Lost Filling
If you lose a filling, we will need to replace it as soon as possible to protect your tooth from further damage. Please call and we will make an appointment to restore your tooth.
